Unable to connect Vertipaq engine

I have bene having some corruption issues with the VM I run powerpivot on so installed a new one. When i load the same excel file as in my exisiting VM I get the following error when I try to load thep owerpivot data window

"Unable to connect Vertipaq engine. Reason: Measure group "transactions" missing reference dimension exisiting indirect relation to dimension "Report Date""

I can load the powerpivot fine in the old VM so I deleted " Report Date" as actually not using it. Reloading the file in the new VM I get the same error again but not the reference is a different table.

I tried disabling the add-in, closing , reopening and reenabling the add-in, but no difference.

Any ideas why it works in one verison and not the other? This is the 64bit version in 64-bit office on a 64-bit Win7 Pro

found they rarely reply!!! I've got it working in a 3rd version so probably just delete it and hope it doesn't hapen again. Pretty wierd.
