My spreadsheet needs to be locked but I have a text box on it that the user needs to type in. How do I unlock it so I can type in it?

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
When protecting the sheet, scroll through the options to the second page and check "Edit Objects"

But it is "all or nothing" - if you have other objects requiring protection then replace the existing textbox with an Active-X textbox (can be edited when sheet protected)
Developer Tab \ Insert \ Active-X TextBox \ Click on where to go in worksheet and drag to size required
If you cannot see Developer tab Right-Click on bottom half of menu ribbon \ Customize The Ribbon \ check Developer box in window on right
