Hello everyone,
I know that this question has been asked several times (searched the board for ages), but I want to make an excel file into an exe file.
Now I know nothing really exists that can give users the same interactivity as having excel on their computer, BUT - what I need to do is be able to display the xls file on computers where they do not have Office installed.
I can't just use a viewer or webpage per se, because they must be able to sort data and use the autofilter function.
They do not however, have to be able to add, delete, modify or save any entries.
I found this nifty tool on the web:
This is the address of the webpage:
http://www.filelibrary.com/Contents/DOS/16/11.html
This is the address of the downloadable file:
http://www.filelibrary.com:8080/cgi-bin/freedownload/DOS/k/16/xlsexe.zip
Now it's a very old program (around 1997 I think), and it's only a demo, but it looks to have pretty much what I need.
The problem is that as it's a demo, it doesn't allow saving, nor does it allow more than 10 rows and columns of data.
I cannot find the full version anywhere as Centerline Software no longer sell this product.
I am wondering if anyone could look at this program and suggest a similar alternative (bearing in mind I have no knowledge of macros or VBA code).
Alternatively, some knowledgable person might be able to build something similar for everyone to use as it seems to be a fairly common request.
Any input greatfully accepted.
P.S. I don't expect anyone to do all the work, but perhaps if someone could suggest a starting point I'd be grateful.
Regards.
