Turning AutoFilter on and off in protected sheet

I have protected a worksheet and enabled the auto filter, however while the sheet is protected I want to allow users to turn the filter on and off. Is there a way to allow this?

You'd have to write your own code for that. The protection option allows you to use an existing autofilter but not remove it completely.
