Trouble w/ linked excel file "Date$ is not a valid name

My users all use the same excel template for data entry each week. I then put their data in Access for them. Rather than going through the steps to reimport the same excel file every day. I just save their file in my access folder (under the same name every time) and link directly to it. I then have a query that just copies the data into an access table.

About 3 times a week I get an importing error that says "Date$ is not a valid name".

If I refresh the link to the excel file everything works fine again. Is it something to do with the fields in the excel file, or is it the file itself? I have searched the file for "date$, but can't find anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
David
