Trouble adding data to Pivot table

Hi

I'm new to PowerPivot and I'm having difficulty adding some data to the values field of a pivot table. The data
is formated as numbers and adds up if you total the field in the Powerpivot window. However when I try and add the details to the pivot table I get the follow message -

"Could not add the field "Total Value2 to the PivotTable. Please ensure that the filed exists and is calculated, and try refreshing the PivotTable "

I am using Excel 2010 and importing data from an Access 2010 table. I'm puzzled as I have been able to show the details in a Pivot Table previously.

Can anybody help please.

Hi

Looking at this again I realised that the Powerpivot version I downloaded was for 2012 when I reinstalled the version for 2010 there wasn't a problem.
Message check which version you download.
