Hello:

Does anyknow know the built-in function in Access 2002 that will reduce two or more consecutive spaces in a string down to one.

Its the equivalent of =trim in Excel.

I've tried the TRIM command in Access, but that doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for your help.

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
TRIM works in Access.

If you have a table with the field name "CLASS" that you need to trim, the following is your function in design view:

newclass: TRIM([CLASS])

you don't need "="

1) what version of access are you using?
2) what is the name of the table?
3) what is the name of the field you're trying to trim?

Access 2002, SP-2

2) what is the name of the table?
T:Keywords Refined

3) what is the name of the field you're trying to trim?
KeywordCombo

In Query (field),

Keyword: Trim([KeywordCombo])

I've also tried,

Keyword: Trim([T:Keywords Refined].[KeywordCombo])

Neither seem to work...
