Hello All,
Is there a way to transform a cell's fill color into some sort of data?

(I've inherited a bunch of worksheets where each cell has a number value and then the fill color says what the value is for.....the previous person then counted the values by hand and put them in another spread sheet :hammer: . )

(I didn't have any luck googling for this....all I get is going in the other direction with conditional formatting)

Thanks,
Alex

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Hey,

You can access the fill colour with VBA using Interior.ColorIndex

For example:
MsgBox Range("A1").Interior.ColorIndex
Will return a message box of A1's fill colour. You can then use this in IF statements etc to convert the data in to whatever you want.
