TransferText is adding ?'s to records

I've been trying for the past day to figure out why this statement

Code:
DoCmd.TransferText acExportDelim, "Final Export Specification", "Final Export", ExportFileName, True

is adding question marks (?) to a set of 181 records' primary key field. They seem random, either 2 or 3 question marks on either side of the record. When I view the records in the table, I don't see anything indicating that there is a question mark there. So I see FA0000012345 and it becomes ???FA0000012345? in the output text file.

Please help because this is driving me crazy.

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Finally figured out a solution. The transfertext wasn't adding any question marks, as it shouldn't. The original data that I was bringing into my db from Excel had some weird formatting. Although these items looked to not contain any ?'s, some strange formatting was causing this. I had to manually copy and paste over these 181 cells with my own form with correct formatting.
