Tracking errors in Power Query ...

I have created 2 Connections to 2 tables in their own Workbooks - both tables have an Email Address column ...

Table 1 has 233 rows, Table 2 has 777 rows - there are no duplicate Email Addresses in either table ...

I have then created a Merge Query (Merge1) using the Email Address columns and Fuzzy matching set to Ignore case ...

The resulting query shows "233 rows loaded", but followed by "9 errors" ...

When I click on "9 errors" a new Query (which saves as a Connection to) "Errors in Merge1" is created ...

How can I work out what the errors are so that I can judge whether they are relevant or not?

I recommen not using fuzzy merge unless you need to. Better to set the case to lower case on each side before Merging.

the most common cause of errors comes from the change data type steps. Try deleting all of these until after the merge. If you click on the errors query, it should give you more information about the cause. Click the error hyperlinks

Unfortunately I need to use Fuzzy Matching (it's random, but not under my control!)!

Thanks for the error hyperlink suggestion, I hadn't spotted that in the error query - turns out there were 9 #REF issues in the source file (again not under my control, but once fixed, Merge1 ran without any errors ...
