today's date match and return value of other cell without changing yesterday's match

I have spent several hours searching the internet for a solution to no avail.

I have an external reference (Daily Exchange Rate) that updates daily. I have a column with a daily date in each row for the entire year. I wish to make the cell next to "today's" date in that column reflect today's updated rate without changing previous rates from earlier dates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can use this formula, but it gives a "false" for previous date matches. This is where I am looking to keep yesterday's and previous matches so I can use that data for lookup values for a specific date.

=IF([@Date]=TODAY(),IF([@Date]=E4,C4,""))

=IF(AND([@Date]=TODAY(),[@Date]=$E$4,$C$4,""),"") gives #Value !

=IF(E337=TODAY(),LOOKUP(E4,'Daily Exchange Rate'!$E$8:$E$372,'Daily Exchange Rate'!$F$8:$F$372),****)

**** is the previous date cell with that date's Daily Exchange Rate. Because today no longer equals the previous date I want the previous date's exchange rate to not change. Does this make sense?
