My dream job (totally unexpected but a 30 year dream) recently became a reality, nothing in anlysis or Excel or... I am now President of our Seminary. My primary responsibilities in the first two years will be developing/providing continuing education for those who are already pastors - with a lot of traveling!

By the end of this month I will probably use Excel for the last time (little "spare" time). Thanks for all the experts who endured with me over the years as I struggled to learn Excel and VBA. It has been enjoyable, challenging, and exciting. :beerchug:

The last seven years allowed me to earn a living using Excel, while maintaining my pastoral mentoring role and my part time teaching. Now, teaching, specifically theological teaching, which has been my life's passion provides me with the opportunity to combine it with earning a living.

I wish all of you the best in your jobs and with Excel.

Excel Facts

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Congratulations on landing your dream job.

I'm still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

I'm still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

I still have that problem. So far my jobs have included:

Math teacher
Naval Intelligence Officer (9 years)
Pastor
Census/survey taker
Analyst for Fortune 50 company
Founder and teacher of Bible College
Pastoral Mentor
President of Seminary

It's a good thing I have something now, my grand kids are in their teens,a nd will probably settle down before me.

My mother always said I would have to live to be 100 to achieve everything I wanted. Now I realize her estimate wasn't too close - I would need to be 150! :nya:

Yet I have enjoyed every job listed above. Had not other better opportunities come along I would not have left any of them. :)

It's co-located on the campus of Concordia Seminary, Ft Wayne. But I will continue to live in KC for the next year or two because of all the traveling (easier from KC than FW).

Perhaps when I am done in May with the initial round of traveling, we can meet some time. :)

All the best Shades :-D

I have yet to find a job I really enjoy so the hunt is still on for me...
Aw, I thought you really liked that job of stirring Mr Truby!

Good luck Shades! Surely this doesn't mean you have to give up using Excel?

Good luck for the future.....

but......

your career seems to be a lot of oxymorons, like
Naval Intelligence
Analyst for Fortune

Regards,

Absquat...
