Whenever I click on a hyperlink, or select a favourite it opens in a tiny little window with just the title bar and the maximise, minimize and close buttons.

It's not really a problem, it's actually quite cute, but for the life of me I don't know why it's happening.

Anybody experienced similiar behaviour?

Cheers

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Just read this, probably already have figured it out, but this little window is a program trying to run unnoticed on your computer. I had a little problem with spyware/ adware about a year ago and i got the same kind of window you are talking about and what they were doing were recording my web activity, keystrokes, etc. While none of them were too malicious it was a frightening prospect. I would find a spyware/ adware program on-line and see if you don't have anything on your computer that might be launching when you try to get on the net or use your email, basically anytime an internet connection was up and running. :o

That isn't the problem.

It happens when I open web pages.

I can easily right click and select maximize.

Actually, now the windows aren't as tiny as they were but there still not maximized.

I'm running Windows 98 and IE6.

By the way the behaviour now is to open new windows full height, half width in the centre of the screen.

It started doing that after I tiled some windows.

Close all IE windows except for one. Maximize that one window, then close ig using the x button. The next time you open an IE window, it should be maxmized.

The window sizes get reset to whatever the size of the last-closed window was/is--I have to deal with this at work all the time. I don't like my IE windows maximized on my work PC, and there's an intranet site I have to use that maximizes itself. I just make sure I always have a window of my preferred size open before I go to the intranet page. If I close the smaller window before the maximized one, I get windows that open maximized as default. And vice versa.

Also, take a look at this:
