Hello,

I built a home which is now an income property. I did this all myself and I need to make some time sheets for tax purposes. I would like to keep it as simple as possible. The home was built 6/1/20-7/2/24.
I would like the sheet to have days Sunday - Friday with the dates, how much time worked that day and what kind of task that was done. Tasks could be anything construction related; ie, concrete, framing, drywall, landscaping, painting etc.. I would like it to factor in the rate per hour I would pay myself with totals each month and totals for each year...Wages..

Does something like this exist, or do you know where I could look>

Thanks so much everybody. I haven't needed you all in awhile, but in the past you have streamlined my job so much and the accuracy has been spot on. I haven't had a payroll adjustment in years for my gvt job and you've saved me a lot of time.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
you could do something like this and then use a piviot table to summarise by Months and years

I suspect you will want to change the rates over time - so may need lookup to change the rate per hours based on a timescale
could also have a dropdown for the tasks

Not sure if it exists - so created this simple sheet

Is there a way to do this so the new sheet populates the dates 2020-24 so I don't have to type each one by one..

it has all the dates populated - not sure what you are asking
in column A - from row 2 onwards and NO Saturdays
6th Jan 2020
8th Feb 2024

etaf,
not sure exactly what has happened. There is no Saturday on the sheet and the totals for the month are divisible by 14...So you can see the total for March is 336 when it should be 14 hours.. The grand total is correct, but each monthly total is a multiple of 14.

Thank you

No, I dont see what hours you have entered

In my sample i just made up some hours

so not sure where the 336 is

can i see a sample of what you have filled in, via XL2bb or put the spreadsheet on a share

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data and will allow us to copy/paste your sample data into our Excel spreadsheets, saving a lot of time.

You can also test to see if it works ok, in the "Test Here" forum.

OR if you cannot get XL2BB to work, or have restrictions on your PC

then put the sample spreadsheet onto a share

I only tend to goto OneDrive, Dropbox or google docs , as I'm never certain of other random share sites and possible virus.
Please make sure you have a representative data sample and also that the data has been desensitised, remember this site is open to anyone with internet access to see - so any sensitive / personal data should be removed

Make sure you set any share or google to share to everyone
