Hi, I wish to make a project activity and timesheet tracker. Where the analyst will provide information on hours spent on projects on daily basis.

Form that information, I want to create a project activity tracker and also the information will give details on daily timehseet or productivity of the analyst

Number of analyst would be 3
Number of projects an analyst working on would be more than 2

Any ideas using excel or vba would be helpful

Thankss!!!1

P6 is a scheduling program used in planning. If you have never used it then prob not the best idea. What are you using at the moment for Activity tracking?

Currently, we are not using anything, I want to make an excel based tool for project tracking. Basically for a team of 3, working on 2 -3 projects at a time it should be able to capture details for below pointers-
- Hours spent by each member on a particular project on daily basis
- If an analyst in working on multiple projects, then hours spent by him on 2 or 3 different projects
- Hours spent on a project totalling the hours of all team members
- Hours wasted due to non-productive acitvities such as iT issues, team meetings, HR meetings

I have some knowledge of vba and macros so i wish to convert it into a dashboard providing summary of above information in the end

I do not believe you will need Macros. Keep it simple single input tab for your timesheet. using data validation lists for you activity numbers. These will need to be your project ones and downtime etc. Then these can be linked to a dashboard for your charts or pivot tables or you could even make tables looking at your input screen using =sumifs.

Keep it simple I use similar when ever i need to track time on projects.
