Hi,
I have been given a process improvement to investigate which involves looking at how we can improve the performance of our spreadsheets within the team. Currently we run a swathe of spreadsheets across the team which (for some reason) we are unable to share. We constantly have issues with people not exiting the spreadsheets once they are finished with them, which means that others cannot update their information.
My question is two-fold: Is it possible to create a macro to time the inactivity of a spreadsheet so that after 10 mins of inactivity it asks the user if they want to continue in the spreadsheet (using a message box). Responding to stay in the spreadsheet would allow the timer to be reset, and responding to leave would ask to save and auto exit. If there is no response to this message box within a certain time period (say 5 minutes), could the spreadsheet be set up to exit without saving?
I'm no VB whizz but from what I've read I believe this should be possible... Please could you help?
Thanks,
Katy
