what is the length of time before this forum auto logs you out? on multiple occasions I have been logged out (without knowing it) while typing a post. when I go to post the thread I get the message that I don't have permission because im not logged on. than I lose all the info I was typing. and the auto saved feature only saves what you were typing WHILE you are logged on.

Hi synergy16

what is the length of time before this forum auto logs you out?...
It varies a lot.......

Do not forget the Remember me Box, that can sometimes help.

Get into the habit of doing a quick “Ctrl C Clipboard copy” of your reply text before posting to avoid losing it should you hit the time out problem.

For a long time i got a lot of problems being logged out quickly in Google Chrome, but in Internet Explorer i was always logged in automatically and stayed logged in for a long time.
A couple of Months ago Google Chrome started behaving well as well. I never found out why.

It seems a bit of an inconsistent problem. It comes up from time to time.

Note you sometimes have the choice of logging in at the top or in the middle. Experiment with combinations of that. I found it gave different time out Periods before when I was having problems

oh ya, I have a session of notepad open when ever I post now, that wont happen to me again!! just seems more like a work-around than a solution.

The time out period is set for 15 minutes of inactivity. You can over-ride this by enabling cookies and checking Remember Me when you log in.

If you are still being logged off, then it's an issue on your system: corrupt cache, program that automatically deletes cookies, etc.
