Hi
I have a problem in excel and i know its simple but my brain is not working. I have a column of time as shown below but when I try and add them up it returns 0. Also the auto count at the bottom left only counts

I made sure the cells were formatted to time (hh:mm:ss) but still nothing. Someone please help me!!

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Formatting doesn't change the underlying value, it just changes the appearance of the cell.
Your times look like text to me, try...
  • Select the cells or column
  • Data tab
  • Text to Columns
  • Delimited
  • Next
  • Make sure all the checkboxes are cleared
  • Next
  • Select the General option
  • Click Finish
  • Format the cells as desired
