hi, i have a performance utilization report that exports as an excel file. i have excel 2007. the excel file has two columns of data with column headers. the first column is time. the second column is cpu utilization. the time column cells are in 5 minute increments that include both the date and time for a period of one day. the second column has the cpu utilization statistic. i need to show a table with the high and low average of cpu utilization statistic for each hour. how can i use excel to do this?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Hi jewebb22 - welcome to the board.

You ask for High low average - does that mean maximum, minimum and average each hour?

If your file always occupies the same rows and columns then it is very straight forward

Say time 00:00 is in A2 and 00:55 is in A13 the CPU percentage in column B

Maximum for the first hour 00:00 - 00:55 = MAX(B2:B13)
second hour 01:00 - 01:55 = MAX(B14:B25)

use =Min for minimum and =Average for the average
