Hi
I highlight cells A1:A3 and changed the format to Text. Then I entered time

1:00

2:00

3:00

They are all aligned to the left. So far so good. Then I highlighted them again and changed the format to Time.
Nothing changed!!. What I needed to do is to double click on each cell, for example I double clicked on cell A1
then the value would change to 1:00:00 AM.

Why when I highlighted the cells and changed the format to Time, nothing happened? When I needed to double click on each cell to make the change happen? thank you very much.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Thank you. But let me explain why I am confused about this. Let say A1 value is 1

I click on A1 and change the format to Short date, I will get 1/1/1900
then I click on the A1 again and I change the format to General and I will get 1

So I did not need to double click on A1 to change 1 to 1/1/1900 or 1/1/1900 to 1

Why with the time I had to double click on the cell? Thank you.

But why I need to re-enter them. They are already there. Let say I have 100 of them. Do I need to re-enter them again. Thank you very much.

test it: enter time, change format to text, then change format to general then change format to time. don't change format of the cell before entering time

if you want more use Alt+Q or F1
