Hello,

I have a large number of addresses which have been put into one column. I need to split up the addresses in order to put together a mail merge file. The problem is that there are too many individual words for the normal text to columns function to work
eg one address might be c/o Mrs M Smith 1 High Street Anytown Anytownshire. Text to columns only produces c/o Mrs M Smith, and doe snot show the rest of the address.

Is there a simple way to split out such a long string using space as the delimiter?

Thanks,

Currently what delimiter are you using to split, if you use space each word in the text would get separated into different columns.

I'm using space as the delimiter. I want to separate all of the words and then put them together to make different lines of the address.

On the data ribbon select Text to columns
Now check Delimeted then Next
Now check space and click next.
It then spilts ANYTHING with a space between into separate columns.

I did it with your sample and it split it across 9 columns C/o.........Mrs......M......Smith etc.
