Text overflow into non-adjacent cell

I'm trying to get a string of text to flow from one cell into another; however, it is not an adjacent cell. For example...if I typed "The following data needs to be adjusted accordingly.", I could have it start in A1 and then have whatever doesn't fit in that cell overflow into A4.
