Every time I type an open parethesis and anything else in Excel and Word both, it always puts a " after the ( so I have to delete it. This is such a pain. Why does it do this, and how can I change it?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
It sounds like someone has added it to the "AutoCorrect" list. In either program, go to Tools\Autocorrect Options and check the list. If you find it in the list, simply select it and click delete.
