We have a spreadsheet with several columns of data extracted from our HIM database. The data is in a text field in the format of 070702. This actually represents July, 7, 2002 but it is in text format. I need to convert this to date format in Excel so that I can use Excel to subtract other columns of date data. Does anyone know how to convert this text data to the proper/equivalent Date format in Excel? Thank you in advance.

Highlight the range

Go to Data|Text to Columns

Skip to the 3rd dialogue box and select the Date radio button. Select your format from the drop down

Click Finish.
