or a contact center, I have a Tableau sheet with rows showing employee name, type of call, number of calls, and avg talk time.

I want to be able to show the total group avg talk time by type of call. I've tried just showing grand totals (avgs), but that just gives me one final number, while subtotals only show me total avgs by agent. Any ideas on how I could do a calculated field to get total talk time avgs for each call type to show all the way down for each agent? TIA!

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Well you haven't provided sample data, but in principle the following measure should work

Avg talk time = divide(Sumx(tableName, tableName[number of calls] * tablename[avg talk time]),sum(tablename[number of calls]))
