Hello!
I have a huge amount of weather data that I am trying to summarize by day. In one column I have the day/time stamp (30 minute increments) and in the second column I have the total rainfall for that period. I want to sum the rainfall quantities by day. Any ideas?

2nd Question
In one column I have day/time data (again in 30 minute increments) and in the second column I have temperature measurements. I would like to get an average, min and max temperature for each day. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Thanks Lenze. I am having trouble grouping by day. When I try, I get the error message "cannot group that selection." Does this mean excel doesn't recognize my date/time format? An example of my date/time data is: <table x:str="" style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 184px; height: 36px;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><col style="width: 101pt;" width="134"><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td class="xl63" style="height: 15pt; width: 101pt;" width="134" height="20">02/16/08 03:32:32.0</td> </tr></table>

Aha! I got it. The date fields were being recognized as text data. To fix it, I had to select the date fields and then click data-text to columns. This reset the formatting on these cells. After that, I was able to go in and reformat the cells by date.

And THEN the pivot table-grouping by date- worked like a charm. Thanks!
