I want to have the total number of records merged at the end of a merged document but I have not being able to figure it out. I use Directory, Continuous Break, mergeseq, and mergerec and either jumps each record to another page or shows a record and total as 1 and so one until the last one.

Any suggestions?

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Nothing yet?

I have tried the following but it did not work:

{ If { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ MERGEFIELD PRJ_GAIN }" ""}{ SET Place1 { MERGEFIELD PRJ_GAIN }}{ If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }"<ENTER>

There is no field code to output the number of merged records per se. If you're using a letter merge, however, and each letter consists of one Section, the following field code in the page header/footer will achieve the same result:
{={={SECTION}={NUMPAGES}}*{SECTION} \# 0;;}
