Can you do a SumIfs formula where the Criteria is looking at the first 3 characters]

I want to Sum Column A where in Column C the first three letters are "DLE". Is this possible?

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Sure. Just use "DLE*" as criteria for that column, i.e.
Code:
=SUMIFS(A:A,C:C,"DLE*")
I am assuming that you have other criteria too, or else you could just use SUMIF instead of SUMIFS.

Two ideas to try

Excel 2010
ABCDE
1Amount
2100DLEav13001300
320Devel
4300DLEav
5400DLEav
6500DLE
1a
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
D2=SUMIF(C2:C6,"DLE*",A2:A6)
E2=SUMIFS(A2:A6,C2:C6,"DLE*")

Thanks, Joe. Yes I do. But I almost always do SimIfs even if I only have one Criteria.

And thank you to everyone else.
