Sumifs or Sumproduct

I want to get the total sales per customer by month. I have tried using the InsertFunction and '#value! is the result

Sales Tab
A=Month
B=Date
C=Customer
D=Sales Amount

Summary Tab
A5:a20=Customer
B3=Month
B5:b20=Total Sales

Do I use Sumifs or Sumproduct and what would the formula look like? My head is sore from hitting it on the desk. Thanks

What version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Also can you post some sample data?
