Hi there, my system data uses a * to denote if a cost is billable and when I pull this as a criteria in a SUMIFS formula, it does not work and brings up everything as if this criteria is not considered. Is the symbol * a wildcard in excel? If there a way around this or do I need to amend my system generated data to replace * with something else?

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
To find * or ? you need to use the escape character "~" to tell excel to use it as character eg:
Rich (BB code):
=SUMIFS(C4:C8,D4:D8,"~*")
