sumif question

I think this is an easy question for someone.. even though I couldnt find anything on google or excel help. Is there a way to use sumif together with real numbers? For example, I have 3 rows of data like this:

#value
2

I want to sum the column... and just count numbers. Is there a way to do this? (without starting another column and using an if statement)?
