Assume I have this data over 3 columns:

Code:
Apples 1 2
Oranges 3 4
Apples 5 6

I thought this would return 14, ie 1+2+5+6

Code:
=SUMIF(A1:A3,"Apples",B1:C3)

but it only returns 6, ie 1+5

What is wrong?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
Thanks.

If my memory serves me well, I seem to recall my formula (without using Sumproduct) works in Excel 2016.

Can someone please verify.

No. The ranges for SUMIF need to be the same size.
