Can anyone explain how to solve this issue with my sumif formula.

Cells A1 has a value of 100/300, and cell B1 has a value of 30.
Cells A2 has a value of " > 100/300" (without the quotes), and B2 has a value of 20

if I do a sumif and search for 100/300, I return 30 as expected. However, if I do a sumif and search "> 100/300" (without quotes), I get a value of 50. why is it not returning 20?
