I have 2 columns A and B

A contains various amounts in £

B contains various text example

A. B
£2. Jules CaT
£3. Jules 1
£2. Jules
£4. Paper
£2. Jules 3
£1. Jules HcT

So a formula that adds up all when Jules is in column B

Answer would be £10

Something like this,
Book1
ABCDE
1A B
2£2 Jules CaTJules10
3£3 Jules 1
4£2 Jules
5£4 Paper
6£2 Jules 3
7£1 Jules HcT
Sheet2
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
E2E2=SUMPRODUCT((ISNUMBER(SEARCH($D$2, $B$2:$B$7)))*(VALUE(SUBSTITUTE($A$2:$A$7, "£", ""))))

Another option
