Sum cells none direct reference

Want to insert a sum formula:
Want to sum the 2 cells:
The cell referenced 2 columns above and the cell referenced 3 columns to the right.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Let's say that you want to put the sum in cell A10, and you want to add A8 to D10.
You could do this with only using the reference to the cell the formula is going in (A10), like this:
