sum() and subtotal() give me 0

Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
The range does not consist of true numbers. Run the following recipe to convert these text numbers into true numbers:

1. Copy the unused cell G1.

2. Select the target cells.

3. Paste Special > Add

wow like magic. it wont cross my mind to copy an empty cell G1. wow wow. Thank you so much.
