Does anyone have suggestions on where to go back to the basics of learning VBA? I've been self-taught over the past six years by reverse engineering results from the macro recorder and Google searches. I've always felt like I skipped the basics and never learned anything about the core concepts that I'm guessing apply to VBA, SQL, M/Power Query, Dax, etc.
Right now I'm seen as the resident Excel genius at my company (which is really sad), but I could be miles ahead I just understood the basics: I'm talking about the most basic building blocks of programming - I don't even know how best to describe what I want to learn because I don't even know what I don't know.
Most resources I've found assume that you already know these basics, so I end up copying code that does what I want it to do, rather than understanding how and why it works.
I was just referred to 'M is for (DATA) MONKEY' (by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar) to help me learn Power Query and I might give it a shot. Any similar recommendations for VBA? Or maybe a good youtube channel or classroom type setting?
Thanks for any suggestions!
