Just to add to the never-ending list of ideas people keep coming up with...

Could we work on an option of "do you want to preview before posting?" or something of the like? I don't know about anyone else, but I can't count the number of times I've caught a glaring error right after I hit submit and see my post...

This is a good idea. I probably still won't proof read, but "hope springs eternal."

Yes, you can edit your posts, but sometimes it's just nice to be able to see how it will show up on the page before you actually hit "submit," and just a last check to see if you're making a total idiot of yourself, or to make sure any board/html code you may have used will look ok once posted

I guess I just thought it could be kind of handy

I like the option at some other sites better. If you edit your post within, say one minute, it doesn't show as having been edited.

Erm

I am the king of errors and dreadful spellings!
Since Bills kind words towards me to the request I made to be MVP and receiving a wonderful reply from Bill, open honest and exact the issue was simple.
I can’t spell and my posts don’t always make sense, but some do. I was piloting a new system I run, which now should be almost perfection. (I hope)
These are as such errors and as I am so poorly educated I’m held back and victimize. If I were or in deed am I disabled then as I’ve posted before this is criminal in the US and UK and falls into territorial laws, you can not victimize or discriminate especially the disabled.
Punishable by removing the only 4 keys from your keyboard, in this case we will choose K and C and what about an A and possible a J Nw if this happened how would you feel?
If you were dyslexic posably I am then that’s US and UK classed disabled, so I would or would I not be discriminated against?

I’ve made my point…

BUT as king of the not very good posts that used to hardly make any sense thus JACK-O-Nence was made up you will see all but perfection in my posts. They are correct answer the question (I hope) and help, but most of all VERY few spelling errors.

So how has Jack managed this?
Voice activated software, well no, we all know they do not work very well, but of cause I have made a substantial change somewhere. Thus the vast improvement and the comments I get by emails form my pals I chat to in just a few days.

My call is simple = the board is fine to post to, but lacks power in that of Excel and say Word. If you have Excel you must have word (I refuse to use word but that’s my choice) you can format and spell-check in Excel can you not – if you use just one cell you can layout wonderfully, do I do this???

So I say why the preview?
And one who can post as much as I did and the amount I did on each post and post nearly 1100 posts on this board alone, and make all those errors then I am qualified in this field.

I have repeatedly said over and over, I do care about the question or spelling or even grammar, the question asker is requesting help so who cares, they are trying to explain something they themselves do not understand, and they do so very well to.

Now add this = US is different to UK and one speaks American (English) the other English (British) so the translation can be hard) We explain and express in local wordiness), now my pal in Hawaii is not US he’s.. I wont say that’s up to him, but a great pal he is and he’s fine, but our MVP Colo in Japan is Japanese I think, and he’s fine, but there is a chance to get it mixed up shall we say…

It’s down to the poster to decide their delivery and presentation, edit or not, matters little.

I see MANY MVP errors and some MVP post that are dreadful, but I comment not, we all = I included make mistakes and that’s the fun..

I have edited very old posts weeks in some cases. Bill will know this is true so I can’t see the problems.

Better ideas would be not to use the MrExcel reply box until all OK to post, that way the problem is minimized to the maximum. If you
WORK LIVE you will make errors regardless, I DO NOT NOW WORK LIVE , as I was asked only today as why I post a little less and the quality is perfection..

I simple said its all down to the poster to decider question or answer, I promised myself I could help and get friends and many emails of thanks, and MVP or not I would only post 1001 post this I have done. Jack has not one think to prove. So why would I worry.

If I did not care I would not bother, simple as that, he understood and agreed, I have promised at least 1001 more perfect posts and to develop techi resources and MCSE Issues.

I guess like with Excel it’s a style, not a rush to get the first reply, we all are experienced posters and help many, let’s keep helping

Take care my friends

Jack in the UK.

Oh my goodness Jack -- this post of yours is fantastic -- no, I don't mean that there are virtually no errors, you have expressed yourself so beautifully. I believe, it is very hard to tell a story from the heart, and this post of yours is marvelous in that regard.

Keep up the good work -- and keep on H E L P I N G !
