Sudden strange behaviour percentage format

I have a sudden strange behaviour of the % cell format in Excel 2017.

What happens:

Type any number, say 10 in a cell
Select column
Choose the % button or rightclick and format cell to percentage
10 becomes 1000%,
not strange because Excel thinks percentage is number x 100
Retype 10 in cell and that returns 1000%
but that is only since a day... it should stay at 10% as it always has done en does on different workstations in older en 2017 version (tested).

This happens in existing Worksheets with percentage columns and new clean Worksheets, so it is something in my Excel triggered by...what?!

I thought of an update bug but that is not the case. No colleague experiences the same.

Only workaround is to type 0,1 to make that 10%. Logical because 0,1 x 100 = 10,
but that was never the case. If you format a cell to percentage (before or after entering data) you could type the percentage and it stayed that way.

Anybody an idea what triggerd this?
I have gone through all setting in the Options menu. Nothing changed or something that looked like a setting.

Looking forward on hearing from somebody that has seen this before and found the fix...

Thanks

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
I did this, as you did.

Type any number, say 10 in a cell
Select column
Choose the % button or rightclick and format cell to percentage
10 becomes 1000%,
not strange because Excel thinks percentage is number x 100
But: Retype 10 in cell and that returns
10%
, not the 1000% that you got.

Solved!
It was and Setting after all... probably clicked by accident because we have been there al lot for someting else last couple of days.
Clicking on the text also checks/unchecks the tickbox.
Excel - Start Tab - Options - Advanced - Options for Editing - Switch on automatic percentage entry (do not know the English item)
