Subtraction by way of drop down

I have a list of names in col A and a list of numbers in Col B.
I have a drop down to choose the names with.
In a different cell, I want to subtract a number from the number in col B that relates to the name chosen.
So if I choose A1, I would subtract the number from col B1.
