Submasks updating

I've been looking at the example database for video collections
there is a form with two subforms which manage to update automatically, but I haven't managed to work out how... I tried removing all the code associated to the form but it still manages to update

now I found out that if I change the name of the form, the updating doesn't work any more... how is that possible?!?!
