Sub-menus on excel go right to left, not left to right

I have looked for this online as well as in the forum, but have a new machine and don't know why my sub menu in excel now is appearing right to left, not left to right. The screen has plenty of room and this is majorly irking my OCD! This is now a Windows8 machine at work. Whereas my previous was 7.

If anyone could advise how I can get this select the sub-menu like it did in my old machine, I would be so grateful!

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
