Hello,

I am trying to list minutes:seconds in 1 second increments up to 90 minutes in Excel (example~ how long it took to complete a task in minutes:seconds)

00:01
00:02
00:03
...
...
...
90:00

However, Excel only seems to let me format time in the sense of World Time hh:ss, so once I get to 24:00 it automatically switches to 00:00. Is there a formula or a way to list up to 90:00?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Hi,

wont 01:30:00 work for you for that you can use the time hh:mm:ss ? Right now you are using hh:ss which is hours and seconds.

Hi,
I tried both of those options and it is still formatting as time of day so only going up to 23:59 then 0:00. Any other ideas?

If you are counting minutes and seconds it should not change at 23:59 as that is for the hour. if the count is going from 00:00:01....00:00:02.....

then if you use [hh]:mm:ss then it will go till 00:59:59 then 01:00:00 and go it 01:30:00 as per the requirement.

the problem I think is that you are using hh:mm intead of mm:ss or [hh]:mm:ss
