How do I turn off VBA code & macros when entering Access? Every time I open Access - it crashes. I suspect that some code/macro is running and is triggered on application open.

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
1) Check to see if you have a macro named "AutoExec". rename.
2) Go to Tools->Startup and change the Display Form/Page to (none).

This should keep everything from running when entering the db, so you can find the root cause.

Thanks for the tip - I cannot check for this macro - since after i hit Alt-F11 it crashes. I can get into db now, but 1-2sec something executes and it crashes on me.

Hold down the SHIFT key when you start the database. That will prevent the AutoExec or any other startup code from running, unless the developer has disabled the bypass.
Then follow CT Witter's instructions

There is no AutoExec function and it crashes if I hold SHIFT key. Is there a way to disable VB? I tried to unload VBE6.dll but that makes whole access application unusable.

Can you open Access at all? If so, can you open a different database? If so, open a new, clean db, and try importing all objects EXCEPT Modules into this new db. Compact/close/reopen, and see what happens.

By pressing Ctrl+Break at the same time you can stop vba-code - important when you have endless-loops. Perhaps it also works with your problem.
