I created various pivot tables with date groupings: year, month, date in one sheet. Then in another sheet I need to create more table with different columns but repeat date groupings but only year and month.

Excel is forcing me to keep the date groupings from the first sheet and when I change them in the second sheet it changes the grouping in the first sheet. How do I disconnect the date field in the second and future sheets' date field and groupings from the first? Thanks for the help.

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
I guess you are not working with powerpivot but a regular pivot since grouping isn't available in powerpivot, correct?

I've had the same problem as you have and I dont think there is a way around it, if you ungroup a group it will ungroup in all pivottables that are based on the same pivotcache. What you can do is to create a new pivottable from scratch based on the same data and group that one differently. Just remember that you then need to update the pivottables seperately since they are based on different pivotcaches. If you have alot of data the file size will increas as well.

Another solution is to use Powerpivot and have a seperate calendar table, then you will be able group any way you want to.
