Stop list function on a dynamic table

Say I have a column of data, for dynamic tables, I’ll tend to link it to the column that's going to determine the length of the table.
Say it's the A column that decides the length of the table.
So I'd enter into B column: - If A1 <>"" 'Do something'

Is there a way to do that, if the data validation is set to list?

Like could I write something into the formula bar, to make it stop offering the list, at a certain row?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
For anyone that might view this thread at a later date. The answer to this question is yes, it is possible. I've just tested it with a basic Y,N and it at least seems to work in theory.
Btw guys I haven't had a reply to my last 3 threads. Either they're so abstract no one knows, or my threads smell or something???
