Thanks to Woody Leonard of Woody's Office Watch, I found that Microsoft recently posted statistics about their public forums. I took their data from the month of April and compared it to the MrExcel message board. Some interesting things:

1. They have about three times the volume of our board.
2. Nearly 21% of their threads go unanswered. Only 8% of our threads go unanswered (and I suspect this will be less once we perfect the "threads with 0 replies" link)
3. On average, their thread has 2.68 replies. Our average thread has 3.96 replies.
4. They did not analyze the "average response time for a reply". This would be an interesting statistic - one where I am sure we would compare favorably.

The bottom line: thanks to everyone for participating in this message board and making it a great resource.

This could be higher due to our response time. (how many times do we post when someone else has posted exactly the same thing when we're typing?)
Also, it could also be ascribed to all of the polite posts with "thank you"s and "your welcome"s.

Congrats Bill.

Jack adds and speack simple

yup asaying thanks is the least you can do .. and also generally this site is safe .. in that kids can use it...

and many MANY thanks i get and personal Email.. this proves as i have always said.

our MVP (im not) deserve credit as does Bill in all this.

We help and give REAL answers maybe do others?
But i add EVERONE needs a pat on the back as they all help in their own way.. we are all friends so thats the key in my mind

I have very close friends all over the world.

Does Jack deserve this? not my call, but many of us are in the same position!
