Hello friends,

I am trying to figure out how to "stack" data in the value section of a pivot table. I have data in a table that produced the follwing table. The dollar amount is on the left and the number is on the right. I would like the number to appear below the $ field, as you see in the table below.

In earlier versions of excel, it was easy to "stack" the data by dragging and dropping. I have searched for how to do it in current versions but have had no luck. Do you have any ideas?

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking for, but if you prefer the style of Pivot Tables from previous versions, you can still access that. Simple right click anywhere in the pivot table, and go to Pivot Table Options. On the Display tab, select the checkbox for Classic PivotTable layout. Hit Ok.

Thanks so much for your response. I didnt explain my problem well. I would like to put the same data element calculated differently stacked verytically:

2011
Sales Revenue $100,342
Number of sales 245

Above I would add the sales figures twicew to the data field. In one case the sales are totaled and then use the same field to provide the count. In current excel, I have only been able to put the figures side by side. In my business, it is very useful to have them stacked.

2011
Sales Number
Sales $100,342 245

On the PivotTable field list, bottom right corner (when selected anywhere in the PivotTable), try dragging the calculated fields into the Row Label section instead of the Values section.

Does that solve your issue?
