Guys, You might know this, our company is investing in a new server for our database, I suggested SQL, they said thet don't support it.

My boss said get SQL and we can just link it to the database, is this just stupid or can it still be fairly effecient and create the same reports as if housing the database on it. I've had mixed oppinions ref this.

I know its not access but it is to do with DB's

Yes, you can use just about anything as a client to connect to a database, such as MS SQL Server. There are other options though, such as MySQL which happens to have a really nice price tag on it (free)
