I split my database, which I understand the benefits of doing. My question is, can you split it into more than two and is there a benefit to doing so?

I know Access has the capability of storing a document (Not a Hyperlink) in a field. I would assume this will use a lot of storage space when doing so. If that's correct, would it be a benefit to have that table(s), where docs are stored, in a different database?

I am also assuming using Hyperlink fields are not an issue and there is nothing I need to know about that. If not please share what you should know before creating Hyperlink fields.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
I'm not a huge fan of hyperlink field but they should work.
If you are storing documents then yes, you will need think about how much storage you will need as access is limited in size and documents can be large.
No real concerns about having multiple "backends", if you will - as long as you can manage it (for instance, if you will need dozens of linked databases just to handle saved documents then it's going to be a serious PIA).
